Jewish Children’s Regional Service

At the JCRS, we recognize the value of Jewish sleep-away camp as a unique opportunity for fun, personal growth, and Jewish identity-building. The JCRS would like all interested children to have this opportunity, but we recognize that for many families the high cost of overnight camp is prohibitive.

  • Children must reside in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee or Texas.

Greene Family Camp

Summer 2021 at URJ Greene Family Camp will be an incredible summer, filled with new and exciting activities that every camper will want to write home about. The health and safety of our families has always been and will remain our top priority as we open camp safely this summer. There are many new and renovated buildings and plans to continue these enhancements over the next few years. Living with the new reality of COVID-19, elements of camp life will look a little different this year , but we are committed to delivering the same level of excellence as we always have. The Jewish community that GFC campers are surrounded by creates a transformative experience that generations of campers have had over the last 45 years.

Ramah Israel Programs

Ramah Israel programs foster lifelong connections to the land, history, people, and culture of Israel. We deliver innovative education that explores the historical ties of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel, as well as the complexities and challenges of the modern State of Israel. We invite our participants to enhance their connection to Judaism and Jewish identity by traveling the country and engaging with our outstanding educators, guides, and guest speakers. We emphasize Hebrew language through formal and informal instruction.

Tikvah Scholars Program

The Tikvah Scholars Program at Yale University is an 11-day residential summer institute for current 10th and 11th graders. We seek students who want to think deeply about serious questions, push their intellectual limits, and read the great works of the Jewish canon and of Western thought with world-class faculty in a vibrant and pluralistic community of students from around the world. The program seeks to advance Jewish excellence in the modern age by exposing some of the best Jewish students to the most important foundational questions in politics, economics, Zionist thought, and Judaism, guided by some of the top teachers, scholars, and policy makers.
