The Young Family Community at Congregation Agudas Achim strives to organize, promote, and lead social, educational, and religious opportunities for families with children ages 0-8.

TOT SHABBAT – 1ST AND 3RD SATURDAY EACH MONTH; CHECK CAA CALENDAR FOR SUMMER DATES!

Tot Shabbat is geared towards children 5 and under and their grown-ups. Join Rabbi Gail Swedroe and friends for a fun morning full of songs, music, and stories as we celebrate Shabbat together. Check out our calendar HERE for current schedule. We will conclude with motzi, kiddush, and lunch! All are warmly welcome. For those who are unable to join us in person – please check out a collection of CAA’s “Tot Shabbat Anytime” videos.


SHALOM MINYAN – 1ST AND 3RD SATURDAY EACH MONTH

Children K – 5 are invited to join CAARS teacher, Ellie Cohen, in prayer and fun explorations of the Torah. After, we’ll join our friends from tot shabbat for motzi, kiddush, and lunch! All are warmly welcome.

BIRTHDAY OF THE WORLD CELEBRATION
Friday, September 11 @ 5:30 pm – Social Halls A & B
Fun, engaging holiday activities for children, followed by music, celebration, and birthday cupcakes led by Rabbi Neil Blumofe, Tammy Stone, and Ben Schenberg. (Geared towards children 5 and under.)

ROSH HASHANAH TOT SERVICES
Saturday, September 12 @ 9-9:40 am – Worob-Rubinett Gaden/Chapel (TBD)
Registration is required for non-members. All are welcome to tot services at no charge; however, registration is required.

SWEET APPLE CIRCUS
Sunday, September 13 @ 9:30 – 10:15AM – Social Halls A & B
Join us for carnival games inspired by the creation of the world and starting the year off with sweet intentions. Geared towards our elementary school students and their families. Immediately afterwards, everyone is warmly invited to join us for a family service in the adjoining social hall.

Reservations for Birthday of the World and Sweet Apple Circus are required (at no charge). 

YOM KIPPUR TOT SERVICES:
Monday, September 21 @ 9-9:40am – Worob-Rubinett Gaden/Chapel (TBD)
Registration is required for non-members. All are welcome to tot services at no charge; however, a donation is requested.

SUKKOT SONG SESSION
Sunday, September 27 @ 11:15am Worob-Rubinett Garden
Join Rabbi Swedroe and friends as we celebrate Sukkot with song, dance, lulav and etrog shaking! We’ll conclude with lunch in our Sukkah.
Geared towards children 7 and under and their families, but older children are most certainly welcome! 

SHAKSHUKA IN THE SUKKAH

We are excited to celebrate with one of our favorite Sukkot traditions! Please join us for dinner in our sukkah, delicious food. Geared for everyone!

FESTIVAL RAIN PARADE, WILLOW DESTRUCTION AND BREAKFAST
Friday, October 2nd @ 8am as part of Morning Minyan (CAA Chapel)
Hoshanah Rabbah is the mac daddy of celebrations! Lots of waving, lots of marching, lots of shofar-ing. And then, willows (and a delicious breakfast).  Bring your lulav and etrog (or “borrow” one) to wave and march.

SHIR LA SHABBAT SERVICE
Friday, October 2nd @ 6:30pm in the Worob-Rubinett Garden
Join Rabbi Gail Swedroe and friends for our musical Shir La Shabbat Service, geared towards our friends 8 and under and their families; We’ll meet right outside the Sukkah in our beautiful outside prayer space. 

SIMCHAT TORAH TAILGATE DINNER
Saturday, October 3rd @ 6:15pm 
What better way to prepare for a Simchat Torah Dance party than with a Tailgate Torah dinner? Join us for dinner before the full night of fun begins. Geared towards children 8 and under and their families.

FESTIVE SIMCHAT TORAH UNPLUGGED DANCE PARTY
Sunday, October 3rd @ 7pm
We’ll joyfully dance with the Torah, celebrating a new year of learning, getting to see a few well-known and loved passages up close and personal, before decorating our own Torah-inspired desserts! Geared towards children ages 10 and under and their families. No registration required. All are welcome! 

Festive Torah Celebration and Dancing
Sunday, October 4th @ 10:20am
More dancing with the Torahs! As part of our festival day service, everyone (yes, even the kids!) gets an aliyah!  Kiddush lunch to follow.

Upcoming NACHAT Schedule

NACHAT is an acronym for Northern Area Chavurah Austin Texas and refers to “contentment and a happy” feeling as a Hebrew word. We meet at the Brushy Creek Community Center at 16318 Great Oaks Drive (just off FM620) Round Rock, TX. Click the button below for more info!
