Check Out the Renovated Worob-Rubinett Garden!

Congregation Agudas Achim is proud to highlight the Worob and Rubinett Memorial Garden, a recently transformed outdoor venue situated directly adjacent to the main sanctuary.

Made possible through the visionary leadership and ongoing dedication of the Worob and Rubinett families, the renamed space marks a significant enhancement to the synagogue’s grounds. The project reflects a multi-generational commitment to enriching communal life and expanding opportunities for outdoor engagement at Congregation Agudas Achim (CAA).

Designed as a welcoming community hub, the garden provides a versatile backdrop for a wide array of synagogue activities and private gatherings. The layout balances open assembly areas with shaded seating, accommodating both large community events and quiet personal reflection.

The upgraded garden features a paved patio layout that defines the courtyard space. Long benches are set beneath trees, while surrounding garden beds, plants and walkways connect the space directly to the sanctuary building wall.

The Worob and Rubinett Memorial Garden enhances how members and guests interact at CAA. The courtyard serves as an ideal venue for receptions, lifecycle celebrations, youth group programming, adult education sessions and other outdoor events.

The garden also hosts Tot Shabbat gatherings tailored specifically for young children aged 5 and under alongside their families. These family-friendly services take place outdoors on the first and third Shabbat mornings of each month. Led by Rabbi Gail Swedroe and guest musicians, the programming centers around shared songs, interactive stories and community connection, wrapping up with traditional blessings and lunch.

Whether attending a scheduled program or seeking a tranquil setting for contemplation during the week, visitors will find a welcoming space designed to foster connection with tradition, nature and community.

The project’s landscape architecture and complete oversight were led by designer Loren Gigliotti, who managed the space’s design, material selection and plant integration to complement the natural beauty of Congregation Agudas Achim and its surroundings.

The Worob and Rubinett Memorial Garden is now open to all congregants, guests and community members. We invite you to explore the beautiful grounds during your next visit to Congregation Agudas Achim, stop by following Shabbat services or consider the space for your next outdoor event.
