Adra Lustig – Director of Youth Education & Engagement

Lustig_Adra

Adra grew up in the Chicago area (Go Cubs!) and spent every summer at Jewish summer camp. This formative camp experience set her on the path towards a passion-filled career in Jewish Education. She pursued an undergraduate degree in Jewish Studies and Theatre at Brandeis University and received a master’s degree in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary.

She has spent most of the last decade in Los Angeles immersed in the project of inspiring Jewish youth to “do Jewish”. She served as Associate Director of the Servan Center for Jewish Learning and Living at Temple Aliyah in Woodland Hills, CA creating a new and innovative religious school experience for our students, their families, our teachers, and the entire congregation.

Adra is honored to work in partnership with the CAA community to shape the Jewish experiences and identities of our youngest members and their families. For Adra, relationships are key – building strong relationships with students, parents, teachers, and all members of the community. As Rabbi Chanina said, “I have learned much from my teachers and even more from my friends, but from my students most of all.”
