We anticipate warmly welcoming you into our Sacred Spaces for the High Holy Days. To make your holiday experience as smooth as possible, please read the information below.

CLEAR BAG POLICY

Congregation Agudas Achim holds the safety and security of our congregants in the highest regard. During these High Holy Days, we will be continuing our clear bag policy.

  • Non-clear small purses and tallit bags are allowed, however, please bring a clear bag whenever possible.
  • Large bags, including backpacks, shoulder bags, and diaper bags will need to be in a clear bag, if you do not have a clear bag for these larger-type bags, we will gladly provide you with one to transfer the contents.
  • ALL bags are subject to search.
  • Please keep all personal belongings with you while you are in the building; unattended bags may be removed.

Thank you for supporting the safety of all while in our sacred spaces.

HIGH HOLY DAYS MEMBER TICKETS

Your ticket or personal name tags serve as your entry ticket and security badge.

All congregants 13 and older must have their name tag visible at all times.

CAA member tickets are valid for the entire High Holy Day season. PLEASE DO NOT DISPOSE OF YOUR TICKETS AFTER ROSH HASHANAH.

  • For guest tickets, please refer to our FAQ.

Please be prepared to show your ticket

As we enter the High Holy Days, our goal is to maintain a high level of security while ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for everyone. We kindly ask that you have your ticket ready when entering through the main gate.

This small step will help keep traffic moving efficiently. If you don’t have your ticket, you’ll be directed to the Will Call area, where delays may occur.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping make our services both safe and seamless for all.

SEATING

Our Sanctuary is mostly open seating. Please arrive early to ensure you and your family find seating together. For Kol Hakavod members who have reserved seats, please arrive by 10:30 am. Reserved seating can be released after that time.

We also recommend you arrive early to find nearby parking.

For reserved seating or reserved parking, please call (512) 735-8410.

HIGH HOLY DAY ALIYOT

Through generations, the tradition of being called to the Torah – especially on the holiest days in the Jewish calendar – has been established as a great source of merit and blessing. Whether it’s opening the ark, lifting the Torah, wrapping the Torah or leading the congregation in blessing, each of these honors serves as an “Aliyah” – a personal spiritual elevation.

Would you like to participate in an aliyah during Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur? Would you like to gift an aliyah to a family member, friend or deserving congregant? Aliyot are available on both days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Donations begin at $180 for each aliyah. Contact Michael Whellan at mwhellan@abaustin.com for additional information.

HIGH HOLY DAY HOSTING

If you have space at a High Holy Day meal to host someone, especially last minute, please complete our Share a Shulchan form.

We would love to ensure everyone who would like to enjoy a festive meal with our community has a place to do so.
