Hanukkah @ Agudas

It’s time to setup our hannukiot (menorahs) and get ready to spin our dreidels as the Festival of Lights is nearly here! Hanukkah begins on Sunday night, November 28th. Congregation Agudas Achim is proud to offer a variety of fun and exciting experiences for those of all ages all throughout Hanukkah. Please check out some of our offerings below.


8:00 pm — For the first candle lighting (11/28), join Rabbi Neil Blumofe, Congregation Agudas Achim and Monks Jazz in the CAA Sanctuary for Jazz and the Art of Delight.

We look forward to an evening of celebratory music. We will light the first candle together.

7:00 pm — All are invited to join Sisterhood to celebrate the second night of Hanukkah. We will bless the candles, sing songs, hear interesting stories from Amnon Orent and Sandy Sack and will hear a reading of “The Grinch Who Turned Into a Mensch for Hanukkah.”

This event will meet on Zoom on Monday, November 29th from 7-8 pm.

6:00 pm — Join Adra Lustig and the CAA Young Families community on Thursday, December 2nd on Zoom as we celebrate Hanukkah with a candle lighting, a scavenger hunt, and other holiday fun! Family members of all ages invited!

6:00 pm — All are welcome to attend Erev Shabbat Hanukkah in the CAA Sanctuary. Together we will welcome in Shabbat with melody, joy and the spirit of community.

Join us on Sunday, December 5, as we say Thank You to John for his continuous service to our congregation!

12 pm — The fun will begin with the Family Hour, featuring donut decorating, a magician, a football toss, and more. The whole family is invited to join us after CAARS to celebrate Chef John. Tickets are $18 per family, including up to 2 adults.

1pm — Adults are welcome to join us for “Casino, Cowboys, and Cooking,” as we celebrate Chef John’s favorite things. Mingle with the guest of honor and all your CAA friends while trying your luck at the casino tables, tossing around a football, and enjoying delicious food and drinks. Tickets are $36/person or $54/couple.

Cookbooks featuring Chef John’s recipes and tributes submitted by the community are also available.
