10,000 Faces of Torah Mosaic Art Auction

Heather Kruger, owner of the Austin School of Mosaic Art, created this stunning mosaic for the 10,000 Faces of Torah campaign that will be auctioned during the Celebration Weekend, February 9-11, 2018.

The history of ancient Mosaic art dates back over 4,000 years. This extraordinary piece that Heather created features a background of stone pieces representing the ancient limestone of the Western Wall (Kotel) in the Old City of Jerusalem. Small fragments of glass inserted into the cracks of the mosaic represent the notes and prayers to G-d that people place in the wall—an indication of how much we crave a personal relationship with G-d.

On top of the stone background is an Aleph-Lamed (אל) ligature spelling “El,” one of the names of the G-d of Israel (El Elohe Yisrael).

Opening Bid – $1,200
